The Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence is home to one of Europe's finest collections of 20th-century art. Vitrocsa's minimalist framing ensures the architecture never competes with the art within.
A setting worthy of the collection
The Fondation Maeght, designed by Josep Lluís Sert in 1964, is one of Europe's most revered private art foundations. Its galleries house works by Miró, Giacometti, Braque, Chagall, and Calder. When the foundation sought to upgrade its glazing, the imperative was clear: the architecture must serve the art, never compete with it.
Why Vitrocsa
Conventional window systems introduce visible frames that interrupt sightlines and cast shadows across gallery walls. Vitrocsa's ultra-slim profiles — the connecting profile between two sliding panels is just 22 mm — ensure that the glazing recedes, allowing light and landscape to enter the galleries without visual interference.
The Sliding system was specified in the TH+ range, delivering the thermal insulation required to maintain stable environmental conditions for the collection, while preserving the clean architectural language of Sert's original design.
